Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix buttermilk and garlic powder. Marinate chicken breasts in this mixture for at least one hour.
  3. Set up three bowls: one with seasoned flour (flour, salt, pepper), another with beaten eggs, and the last with the remaining buttermilk mixture.
  4. Dredge each marinated chicken breast first in flour, then dip in the egg wash, and back into flour for double coating.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat (about 350°F/175°C) and fry chicken until golden brown on both sides (5-7 minutes per side).
  6. Transfer fried chicken to the preheated oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
