  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded kataifi dough (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil; mix until combined.
  4. Stir in the hot coffee until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a prepared pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes.
  6. Allow the cake to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before moving on.
  7. In a pan over medium heat, toast chopped kataifi with butter until golden brown.
  8. Mix the toasted kataifi with pistachio cream until well combined.
  9. For ganache, microwave chopped chocolate and heavy cream until melted; stir until smooth.
  10. Spread the pistachio mixture over the cooled cake and pour ganache on top.
  11. Garnish as desired and serve warm or chilled.
