  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (toasted)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter for glaze
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar for glaze
  • 2 tbsp milk for glaze
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast pecans on a baking sheet for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in cooled pecans.
  6. Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between each scoop.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are set.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by melting butter with brown sugar, stirring in milk, and mixing in powdered sugar until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
