  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pastry for double pie crust
  • 23 tablespoons butter (for dotting on apples)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Prepare a 9-inch pie plate with the bottom crust, trimming excess dough.
  3. In a bowl, mix sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and lemon juice until well combined.
  4. Spoon the apple filling into the prepared crust and dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second pastry crust and place it over the filling; seal edges tightly.
  6. Cut slits in the top for steam to escape and brush with milk or almond milk for color.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes; reduce temperature to 375°F and bake for another 30 minutes until golden brown.
