  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup milk (or nondairy alternative)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or nondairy alternative)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, molasses, ground ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Heat until it reaches a gentle boil while stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.
  2. Whip together heavy cream and one tablespoon of gingerbread syrup until soft peaks form for the topping.
  3. Froth your milk using your preferred method (stovetop, microwave, French press).
  4. Stir two tablespoons of gingerbread syrup into a cup of strong coffee. Add frothed milk and top with whipped cream and additional syrup if desired.
