  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked white rice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, heat vegetable oil until hot. Gradually stir in flour to create a roux; cook until dark brown (20-30 minutes).
  2. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and celery; sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, cajun seasoning, thyme, and bay leaf; cook for another minute.
  4. Slowly add stock while stirring continuously to avoid lumps; bring to a boil.
  5. Add sliced turkey sausage; reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. Introduce shrimp and crabmeat; let simmer for another 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Remove bay leaf; stir in green onions and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
