Ingredients

Scale
  • 15.25 ounces chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 2 pounds vanilla almond bark
  • 34 pectin-based gummy candies
  • candy eyes
  • orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the cake mix according to package instructions by combining the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and water in a mixer bowl. Blend until smooth.
  2. Bake the mixture as directed, then let it cool completely.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy, then crumble the cooled cake into this mixture and combine thoroughly.
  4. Scoop the mixture into uniform balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill the balls for about 2 hours or one hour in the freezer.
  6. Melt almond bark until smooth. Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted bark using forks and return them to the baking sheet.
  7. While still wet, decorate with gummy candies and candy eyes.
  8. Mix half a cup of almond bark with orange food coloring and pipe designs onto each ball for added flair.
  9. Chill again briefly until set.
