Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef
  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • 240ml beef stock
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 100g butter
  • 200g mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium white onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 80ml apple vinegar
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ bunch fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 20g freshly grated parmesan
  • 30g parmesan for butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, made into paste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by sautéing diced onion and garlic in olive oil, then browning ground beef. Add tomato passata, beef stock, and seasonings; simmer for about 25 minutes.
  2. While the sauce simmers, hollow out crusty rolls and brush them with a mixture of melted butter, garlic paste, parsley, and parmesan.
  3. Cook spaghetti until al dente; mix it with the sauce once ready.
  4. Fill each hollowed roll with the spaghetti mixture and top generously with shredded mozzarella.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
